App privacy
Privacy Policy — XBT - Market Hours
XBT - Market Hours collects no personal data. There is no account, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking. Everything you configure stays on your device.
1. What the app does
The app shows world exchange and forex-session opening/closing times in your chosen time zone, live countdowns, a 24-hour session-overlap strip, optional local alarms for market open/close and session overlaps, and an Android home-screen widget.
2. Data we collect about you
None. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, device identifiers, advertising ID, location or contacts. We operate no user database, so there is nothing about you for us to store, sell or share.
3. Data stored on your device
The following are saved locally (Android SharedPreferences / the iOS
equivalent) and never leave your device:
- display time zone, time format and countdown style;
- the markets you track and which of them have alarms, the alarm event type (open / close / both) and the notification lead time;
- session-overlap alarm selections and the ongoing-countdown notification setting;
- home-screen widget theme and density;
- app language and light/dark theme;
- a cached copy of the downloaded exchange-holiday calendar (so the app works offline).
Uninstalling the app (or clearing its data) deletes all of it. There is no cloud backup — we could not restore it even if you asked.
4. Network use
The app makes one kind of network request: it downloads exchange holiday
dates over HTTPS from our own Cloudflare Worker proxy at
https://forex-proxy.xbtalgo.workers.dev, which relays publicly available market
data from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP). The proxy holds the data-provider API key
server-side, so the key never ships inside the app and the app never contacts the vendor
directly.
A request carries only an exchange code and a date range — no identifier, no account, no usage data, nothing you typed. As with any internet request, the receiving server (and Cloudflare, as the hosting/CDN infrastructure) transiently sees your device's IP address in order to return a response. We do not log, store or profile it.
If the network is unavailable the app keeps working from its local cache; market status and countdowns are computed entirely on-device.
5. Notifications
Market open/close alarms, session-overlap alarms and the optional ongoing countdown are generated locally on your device and scheduled by the operating system. No push service is used, no device token is created, and nothing about your alarms is sent anywhere. Scheduling is inexact (the system may batch alarms by a few minutes); the app does not request exact-alarm access.
6. Permissions
- INTERNET — download the holiday calendar described above.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — show the alarms you enabled (Android 13+).
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — re-arm your scheduled alarms after the device restarts, using data already stored on the device (no network involved).
The app requests no location, storage, camera, microphone or contacts access. Standard Android libraries used for local notifications may add technical entries (e.g. VIBRATE, WAKE_LOCK); these control device behaviour only and give no access to your data.
7. Home-screen widget
The widget renders market data that is already on your device. It sends nothing anywhere.
8. Links that leave the app
Settings contains optional shortcuts to our other apps' store pages and to your email client for support. Tapping one hands off to the Play Store / App Store or your mail app, which are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not told that you tapped.
9. Children
The app is a general-audience market-schedule tool, is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone — including children.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will ship together with an app update.
