Privacy Policy — XBT - Economic Calendar
XBT - Economic Calendar collects no personal data. No account, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no third-party tracking. Your alert choices and filters stay on your device.
1. What the app does
The app is a single-purpose economic calendar: it shows upcoming macroeconomic releases with impact and currency filters, a live countdown to the next event, alert notifications before releases, an optional morning briefing and a home-screen widget.
2. Data we collect about you
None. There is no account and no user profile. We do not collect your name, email, device identifiers, advertising ID, location or contacts, and we do not build a profile of you or sell data — because we never receive any.
3. Data stored on your device
- your alert choices (belled / muted events), the alert lead time and the "My currencies" profile;
- morning-briefing settings (on/off, time, quiet-day behaviour);
- impact / currency filters, language and theme;
- a local copy of the downloaded calendar so the app works offline.
All of it is local only and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
4. Network use
Calendar data is downloaded over HTTPS from our own Cloudflare Worker proxy
(https://forex-proxy.xbtalgo.workers.dev), which relays publicly available
economic-calendar data from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP). The proxy holds the data-provider
API key server-side; the app never contacts FMP directly.
A request carries only the date range being displayed — no personal information, no identifiers, no usage data. Cloudflare, as the hosting infrastructure, transiently processes standard connection metadata (such as your IP address) in order to deliver the response; the app adds nothing to it and we do not log or store it.
5. Notifications
Event alerts and the optional morning briefing are generated locally on your device. No push service is used and no device token is created.
6. Event-name translation
Event names are localized by a built-in offline dictionary shipped inside the app. No text you see is ever sent to a translation, cloud or AI service, and nothing is downloaded for this.
7. Permissions
- INTERNET — download calendar data from the proxy described above.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — show the event alerts and morning briefing you enabled (Android 13+).
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM ("Alarms & reminders") — economic releases are time-critical, so when this special access is granted your alerts fire at the exact minute you chose. It is optional: if you do not grant it, the app automatically falls back to approximate (inexact) timing.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — restore your scheduled alerts after the device restarts, using data saved on the device (no network involved).
No location, storage, camera, microphone or contacts access is requested.
8. Third parties
Calendar data originates from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and reaches the app exclusively through our Cloudflare Worker proxy. No data about you is transmitted to either party beyond a standard anonymous HTTPS request. No other third-party service is used.
9. Children
The app is a general-audience finance tool, is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone.
10. Changes
Any future change to this policy will be published at this URL and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
